Niiice.

The damn name of the movie is was too long for the database and user interface to handle.  “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan” was the longest movie title we have ever seen.  Yeah yeah yeah, proper error handling and string functions should have prevented such a stupid error.  We will just blame this one on the third party vendor.

]]> http://www.shermanwong.net/2007/01/18/taco-bell/feed/ Quick Thoughts on Agile Development http://www.shermanwong.net/2007/01/16/quick-thoughts-on-agile-development/ http://www.shermanwong.net/2007/01/16/quick-thoughts-on-agile-development/#comments Tue, 16 Jan 2007 20:29:55 +0000 sherman Corporate Methodology http://www.shermanwong.net/2007/01/16/quick-thoughts-on-agile-development/ As a resolution that has been long overdue, I need to start posting in my blog regularly.  Agile development seems to be a hot button on getting things done around here, but people really need to understand that tearing out the broken waterfall model and replacing it overnight is not going to be the solution releasing a solid product.  Agile should be about getting something done and using the right tool to get there with a sane process.  The problem with Agile is that it consists of a bunch of useful techniques, but that their usefulness depends on the context they are used in.  A strong PM is needed that understands the critical pieces that need to be done and how it’s going to be done in order to prevent a headless project.  Having a client that is not feature crazy also helps.
